Still under construction! Please surf carefully!

Hi, and welcome to my home page. As you see, it is still under construction! No worries, it is just a matter of time. Hopefully, one day I will find the time! When? Only God knows!

September 1998, I moved to Ottawa (aka the Silicon Valley North). Fortunately, after working for three months as a contractor (Y2K testing of Medical Equipment), I started working for a fibre optic start-up company named Zenastra Photonics, Inc. (formerly Nu-Wave Photonics) as a founding employee. I worked in the R&D department designing and developing some Optical Communication Components based on a new idea. Unfortunately, due to poor market conditions Zenastra went bankrupt (see Zenastra Photonics: RIP) two and a half years after it was born.

I was practically unemployed for a while, so I started enjoying myself, following my hobbies and traveling around and of course hunting for a job. Fortunately I got a job in GTA (Greater Toronto Area) in June 2002 at Sparton Electronics as a Senior Electronics Engineer. I finished the design and development of a 128 channel computerized Thermal Control System (RTD and Thermocouple signal conditioning, Digital PID implementation). Then started working on Mass Spectrometers at MDS Sciex as a contractor testing prototypes of new instruments. They built the mass spectrometers for the Viking landers sent to the Mars in 1975. Pretty cool stuff, eh? Sciex is the manufacturer of top of the line Mass Spectrometry system in the world with applications in life science, pharmaceutical, environmental and material science. It's pretty amazing what they can do to the ions!!! I joined Sciex in July 2004 and have been working as a Systems Specialist in the manufacturing department. What else. oh, started teaching math at Seneca college (Centre for Precision Skills) since Fall 2005. That's all for now.
